Three weeks ago I posted one of Len’s new tunes as a Sunday morning lesson on our facebooks. He’s been back in our hearts and minds a lot lately, his birthday and a new, remarkable album. 82 is a decent age but it just makes his death all that sharper a wound. If you’ve not listened to it, here’s the whole thing – do it. It’s a great record. As always filled with spirituality and mortality. As a youngster I recall being told not to listen to him and his ‘suicide music’. Sincerely, by idiots, they seemed to think that the working of the human heart was like the noon day sun and if you looked into it to closely or too long you’d go blind, better to stumble around with your eyes shut. He’s taught me so much more than they ever could.
